Weekend Preview: Jets travel to Valley, Sackville for road trip

The Cape Breton Jets will travel to Berwick and Sackville this weekend for a pair of Nova Scotia Minor Midget 'AAA' Hockey League games Saturday and Sunday.

The Jets will begin the road trip against the Valley Wildcats on Saturday, with puck drop scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Kings Mutual Century Centre in Berwick.

Cape Breton enters Saturday's game with a record of 0-2-0-0. Meanwhile, the Wildcats are 0-2-0-0 after a pair of overtime losses to the Dartmouth Voyageurs and Basin Armada.

The Jets are led by forwards Nathaniel Fuller (two goals), Curtis Novak (one goal and one assist) and Ryan Chisholm (two assists). As for the Wildcats, Maxwell Longmire, Ian Baldwin and William Churchill have powered the offense for the club early this season, each scoring once.

Jonathan Dolomont has handled the action between the pipes for Cape Breton thus far this season, appearing in both games last weekend, posting a 3.50 goals-against-average.

Mason Kaizer (0-1) with a 0.91 goals-against-average and Oliver McMahon (0-1) with a 2.98 goals-against-average is the goaltending duo for the Wildcats.

Cape Breton will wrap up the road trip when they face the ChiroCare Kings at 11 a.m. at the Sackville Arena on Sunday.

The Kings have a 1-0-0-0 record, this after shutting out the MU Rhino Renovations 4-0 last Saturday.

The Kings are led by Matthew Revels, who posted his first career Nova Scotia Minor Midget 'AAA' Hockey League hat trick in Saturday's win over MU Rhino Renovations. Jared Fraser also has a goal for the Kings.

Marcus Pettipas posted his first career Minor Midget 'AAA' Hockey League shutout, earning two points in the standings for the Kings.
