Weekend Preview: Jets to host Voyageurs in New Waterford Saturday.

The Cape Breton Jets will continue their Nova Scotia Minor Midget 'AAA' Hockey League regular season this weekend on home ice when they host the Dartmouth Voyageurs at the New Waterford and District Community Centre in New Waterford.

Game time is 7:30 p.m.

The Jets are coming off a successful weekend after picking up wins over the Valley Wildcats and the Sackville/East Hants ChiroCare Kings on the road.

Meanwhile, the Voyageurs are also coming off a win in their last game, blanking the ChiroCare Kings at the Sherwood Arena on Oct. 14.

Cape Breton enters the weekend led by forwards Nathaniel Fuller with three goals and one assist, followed by Brayden Larade with two goals and two assists and Ryan Chisholm with a goal and two assists.

As for Dartmouth, Josh Crooks leads the offense with three goals and two assists, while Brendon Buchanan has three goals, followed by James Harrison with a goal and two assists and Cole Good with three assists.

In goal for Cape Breton, Jonathan Dolomont has appeard in three games, posting a 1-2 record with a 2.95 goals-against-average. Meanwhile, Andre LeClair has a 1-0 record, along with a 1.000 save percentage, this after posting a shutout against the Wildcats on Oct. 14.

The Voyageurs goaltending duo consists of Aidan Durnford, who remains perfect between the pipes with two wins and no losses and one shutout with a 0.50 goals-against-average and a .980 save percentage. Joshua McCarther is 1-0 with a 1.99 goals-against-average and a 0.920 save percentage.

Following Saturday's game, Cape Breton will wrap up the month of October with a meeting with the Basin Armada on Oct. 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the New Waterford and District Community Centre.
