Jets to honour veterans with Remembrance Day game Saturday

2017-11-08

Lest We Forget. Remembrance Day 2017.

The Cape Breton Jets, in partnership with the Nova Scotia Minor Midget 'AAA' Hockey League, will honour the veterans who sacrificed their lives for our freedom.

The Jets will host the Sackville/East Hants ChiroCare Kings in a special Remembrance Day game on Saturday at the New Waterford and District Community Centre. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Prior to the game, a pre-game ceremony will take place with a local veteran doing the ceremonial puck drop. A moment of silence as well as the singing of our national anthem will also take place as part of the ceremony.

Both the Cape Breton Jets and Sackville/East Hants ChiroCare Kings will wear special poppy stickers on their helmets in honour of our veterans.

The Jets encourage the general public to attend Saturday's game and help both teams show their respect for our outstanding veterans.

Admission is $5 each, while those 16 and under attend for free.
